Does a T-176 bellhousing and clutch fork use a return spring on the clutch fork? Not sure if it uses one or not. I want to be sure before bolting it up. I am running a hydraulic clutch. Thanks. -Steve
There is a spring inside the bellhousing that holds the fork, a spring between the fork and the bellcrank that holds the linkage together, and a spring on the pedal that returns it. With hydraulics I don't know if all these are needed or not.
One thing I would check with a hydro clutch is to make sure the return spring doesn't pull the slave cylinder pushrod so far into the cylinder that a single stroke of the pedal doesn't push it out far enough to disengage the clutch..
