Clutch Question

I have a 1981 CJ5 with the 151 motor and the SR4 transmission. I had the SR4 rebuilt last winter as a bench build which appears to have gone well. When I removed the trans, I didn't take the bell of the motor so I never did a good visual inspection of the clutch. I've driven it 5 times now since the re-install of the trans and new slave cylinder and the clutch pedal started feeling crunchy and it's randomly slipping now in all the gears. I've had a clutch go out on me before and the slipping is definitely the same. The odd part is that I can push the clutch in once more after the slipping starts; and it goes back to normal.

I'm guessing it's the pressure plate or throw out bearing that have failed, but I also wanted to get some opinions on if you think it could be something that may have broken in the trans that was just rebuilt.

Did you "bleed" the air our of the slave cylinder? Those cylinders have to be "bled" just like you do for a brake wheel cylinder. Hope that helps...

Yes, I've even bled it again. Thanks for the response though!
