Clutch Issues

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got a 76 CJ5 with a SBC 350 and a T18 trans. I have a chevy pressure plate with a ford clutch disc, chevy throw out bearing and a chevy fork. I am using a ford hydraulic slave with about 2 1/4 inches of throw but can not get enough throw to make the clutch engage fully.1st and reverse grind but it will still go into gear and it releases right at the bottom of the pedal with no room for adjustment. The bearing is basically right up against the plate with about a 1/16 of an inch in play. Not sure if I need a different fork or maybe a different throw out bearing or slave. Has anyone run into this?
