Cluster****ed seating arrangement
So I am already tearing out the floor and welding new sheet metal (18gauge steel) for a new floor to be covered by a rhino liner. When I got the jeep (69 cj5), the seats were bolted to a metal fencepost that was wedged into the interior. My question is...Is there a bracket underneath or above the floor that is supposed to add stability when bolting the seat down or does it bolt through to the frame? This middle part of the interior was completely rusted out. Thanks in advance.

There are seat brackets that mount to the floor.. One for the driver side and one for the passenger side..

There is a crossmember under the tub that the seat brackets bolt to, that is the structural support for the body as well.
