Bill, Dave... thanks for the tip on cleaning. Would not have thought to do it.

I have been cleaning up my shop, out of pure frustration. I feel like I am so stagnant! Like in a HUGE rut. I have so much to do, and I know you just have to chip away, but I have been feeling overwhelmed. So with my cold in hand I went out to the shop and started cleaning. I am sweating like a wild pig on an August day in south Florida! It is actually making me feel a little better physically. I can't believe the crap I have thrown out of the shop. Now I have to pick it up, again, and toss it in the trash! But I can see my shop floor. I moved my 7 over so I can get to it easier, and I have wifey tracking down some carb bolts. Maybe I will fire her up later today.

Attaching some pics of Clay's OH console he is building. It will house his stereo and a storage compartment. he's pretty pumped about it. I marvel at his welding skills. He has really done well.

Gotta go cut some grass...

No problem buddy, I know how it is to be up to your eyeballs, brain box foggy and the overwhelming feeling that something needs to be done but the nagging question is what needs to be done first; the answer of course, is everything

On the other hand, firing up wifey this evening sounds like fun but I would suggest taking the batteries outta the camera

After cleaning up the Neon injectors, Clay installed them onto the fuel rail. He bypassed ordering a rebuild kit that provides new screens, pintles, and O-rings. He blasted them all out with carb cleaner and Blaster. He also filled the fuel rail with Blaster. Then he connected the fuel rail to the block. He connected all the injector wiring, but he never labeled it. He was muttering something like, "this looks like it goes here, this looks like it goes there..." I have no idea if he got lucky or not! Worse case scenario he will be tracing wiring. So the OBDI engine harness is in place. The OBDI injectors are in place. All the OBDI sensors are nearly finished.

Still need to get...
OBDI distributor (JY)
OBDI coil (JY)
XJ air box (JY)
Flywheel bolts (new)

Outa da way you Knuckleheads!

Skipper looks like your moving in the right direction, however I have a question is the ECM from the auto transmission? If so I would source a ECM from a manual trans the programs are different and will cause you fits.

The dirt in the fuel line, rail and other can be over come. Install a large pre-filter on your pump so you don't suck any thing into the pump. The tolerances are so fine you don't want trash it. Also install a filter on your return line just after the fuel regulator so you dont send CRUD back to the tank. After a few fill ups you can ditch the return filter. Also run the original injectors for a few tank cycles so that if you get any CRUD in the injector you can easily switch to the Neon's

Dont quote me on this but I think the OBD1 is a batch fire system and not sequential meaning all the injectors fire at once and not per cylinder. So I dont think you will have any issues with mixed up wiring, also the harness is pretty hard to get the injectors out of order.

The rest is pretty straight forward O2 Sensor, MAP Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, Coolant Sensor, VSS and idle air I may have missed some thing but thats all I can think of till I have had my third pot of coffee.

The crank position sensor is very crucial that it be located correctly.

Also if you have yanked the dizzy you will need to index the dizzy you can Google it and its so easy even a cave man can do it.

What is the manual tranny ECM going to give me? I thought I could just ground the wire from the tranny control module??

I will definitely provide the filters. Good suggestion on using the stock injectors before the Neon injectors. I really hate to tell Clay to pull them back out!

After reading the FSM it looks like it fires the injectors sequentially, using the cam position sensor and the crank position sensor. All the injector wires are different colors, and it won't be hard to trace them.

I am having TONS of trouble finding/confirming the "5 wires to fire". You can Google it all day and read everythig posted, but it is primarily for YJs, and nobody says "this wire, and this wire, and this wire...". Everybody talks like everybody already knows!!!

And I'm a slug!

So I have been looking for a pinout of the bulkhead connector for the '92 XJ so I can figure out which wires to splice into the CJ bulkhead.

Jorge... isn't this the PCM plug? Don't I need the bulkhead plug?? So I know what is power for PCM, fuel pump, etcetera, etcetera....

Oh yeah... Thank You! I do need this diagram. It's better than the one I had.

Looks like you are making good steady progress! Just cleaning up alone will help you think better. Keep going and it will have a domino effect.

Well, Professor... from the key switch to the bulkhead to the PCM, yes, it feeds the PCM. I know there's something to do with start/run, run, and I don't know what else. I guess start/run should feed the fuel pump? I don't even want to think about it!

The domino effect is a good analogy, but everybody stays so far away from me that when I fall over I can't hit anyone! So it's a short run!

Thinking about taking my Jeep to my favorite mechanic to get it in running condition. That would be a huge heap off my plate.

Skipper the ECM has one plug on it only?
If thats the case then the pin out I posted should be the ticket.
If this is not the case take pictures of the ECM and harness where is goes to the bulkhead connector.
