I guess I'll need to ask the wife for a favor and have her turn the wheel so I can watch the front of the Q-trac jeep.

This is going to cost you big time Scott.

WOW! I guess they must all be like that from the factory....just never noticed. The (sheet metal) bracket is flexing.

I would think that a heavy duty steering gearbox bracket would solve that.

It's more like MoC said, the holes in the bottom of the frame are wore, and the nuts that are normally welded have come loose.

PS. But I don't believe it makes any difference. I guessing , but I would think the bracket would be the same.

Haha when I told the wife to turn passenger side she turned driver, the wheels were already turned that way.

By the way Scott, here's the list, Vicki wants to know when you will start.

Lucky for you I painted the downstairs bathroom walls today. So she was in a good mood.

Towards the end of the video , in the upper left hand side of the screen you can see a large bolt. This is for the winch mount, as a temporary fix I'm going to remove the rear most bolt from the frame, and take a strap of 1/4" x1.5" steel and weld it to the winch mount and use a longer bolt. I will do the same with the rearmost bolt that holds the box on. Check my thread to see how it works out, I'm starting tomorrow.

The bracket is the same. When i was doing my frame I was going to weld the braket To it then u realized it wouldn't have come off to get a new gear box.

I should take a video of mine. I have the MORE box bracket and I don't really feel any flex even when wheeling. Doesn't mean it's not flexin though.

Here's a MORE steering box bracket at work (1-1/4" relocation bracket). After watching bills video, I would say this is ~$100 very well spent!

I agree Daniel, I have one on my "5". Although I wonder if the mounting holes are like the ones in my video, there might still be movement.
