Yeah, that was after my trip to the Amazon. I made a local Chief angry and he shrunk my head. Hurt like anything too! Took a lot of trips to the Doc to make me handsome again.

This Jeep just keeps getting better and better! Done over the weekend, new steering box (junkyard steering box), mirrors (both mirrors on now), flares, steering stabilizer, harnesses, windshield wipers/motor. I can't drive it enough! I am taking it to work the next two days, just to ring it out and show it off, then Clay will take over. Damn! Guess it's time to move on...

Thinking about entering in the CJ of the Month. Should I do it?

What was the source of the oil problem?

Absolutely, enter it in the CJ of the Month contest, you have my vote!

All it needs now are some NASA decals. You know I'm getting you an Indiana Jones hat for Christmas, Scott.....we can have some cloudless fun with this.

Oh Man, I really like those fedoras!

The oil leak was caused by, I believe, a couple of things. First, the dipstick tube wasn't seated all the way into the block. The block has a counter-sink for the tube flare to nestle in, and it wasn't there. Also, I had added a breather/vent to the valve cover. It is foam filled. I tried to blow through it and could not! The foam was too dense, and no air could get into the engine, so I managed to pull about half of the foam out. Now it breathes. Lastly, the PCV valve was probably too clogged to work. I took the guts out of an old one, and I am using that now. It has free flow of air in and good suction out. No more oil leak.

Man that looks good, the black accents were the correct way to go. Ya'll did a great job , you have every right to be proud. Lots of blood, sweat, Aggravation. And probably a few tears went into this. The end result is what we see in the pictures. A great looking CJ 5!!!!

My hat is off to the entire family, cause I know everyone of the Kerr clan Contributed. The pictures in this thread are proof of that.

I just realized that, when I look at this beautiful Tan and Black CJ, I get in the mood for Guinness and Bass!

BTW, the side view mirror is sideways.....sorry, OCD.

VERY GOOD Scott AND Clay! Sinking in a sea of grad school, but have been lurking. Mine still in a billion pieces on the garage floor, but I am in school, just bought a house, AND just found out wife is with child again. Not trying but....thats how it happens I hear.

Sorry...

Jeep looks SO SWEET. I would vote it for CJ of the month, and I am pretty sure many others would as well!

Thanks for always sharing Scott. More work to do, will hit you back later. I am on Fall break next week and hope to do some sanding and spraying- will get some pics up.

One heck of an offer, Fred. Since Hank, Jr sang about San Angelo I have always wanted to go! The mirror is sideways because I like it like that, and you don't!
