That wouldn't hurt MY feelings!! Nice Bill. It just needs a few Jeeps parked around it!

So I was having pancakes this morning. Butter was on the table, but I wasn't paying attention. Went to the fridge to get the butter. Picked up the container and thought it was odd, besides being empty... again! I always end up with an empty butter container. But SHEEESH!

Wifey is in town shopping for Jeep parts I need, axle vent nipples, bolts, nuts, washers, rubber tubing, valve cover breather and grommets, U-joints, etc. Clay is doing yard work for a neighbor (for pay). I am cleaning up the shop and trying to get organized after the storm. The day is not starting out the way I had planned.

Been working all day in the heat, fussing with my POS HF Sandblaster. Got so frustrated I called Jim. Jim is one very good guy! He got me going too. So after STRAINING the sand (which someone else has already mentioned) the blaster gave me NO TROUBLE!! I am using Play Sand, which is NOT blasting media, so why would I expect the blaster to behave as it is supposed to!? Worked perfectly after straining.

Having to do the grill again. 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Clay straining the sand for me. He is SO strong! I am using Beth's largest strainer from the kitchen. She doesn't know it yet!!

This is my problem. We sandblasted this grill and painted with 2K primer (which is also called High-Build or High-Solids or Sandable Primer). It came out great. If you have been following this build you will maybe remember this. The primer blew off with the air hose when I was getting ready to paint the grill. OOPS!

So I called Richardson's (our local automotive paint supplier) and asked "WHY!?" He said you can't spray 2K primer on bare metal... ain't nothing for it to stick too! And we had sandblasted it clean. Said we should have used Self-Etching Primer. So that's what it gets this time around.

In the end, it was a good thing I redid the grill. Little rust pockets were popping up here and there. Someone said that a pressurized blaster is better than a gravity feed. You know what I think about that comment... Right On!!

Filler is from previous work that I did. I didn't want to do THAT again, but I guess it's fate! Clay has pulled the gas tank and is touching up areas that got scratched up. 3B gave up Clay's tires, and I started blasting his rims. Man, is it hot.

Haaahaaahaa, I remember getting a bug collector kit when I was like five, stuck many a bug on the wall of the garage

Oh yeah, you know what the say about the best laid plans don't ya

Old window screens work good too!

And last, popped the top on a jar of pickles this morning, they *are* fit for human consumption...not bad for a first timer. I will try to get them out this week.

Where those bugs stuck to the wall with square nails, since everyone used them "back in the day"

Front of grill in self etch. I will have to finish it out again. I won't make as big an effort this time, though. There is a small hole that needs welding up. A little filler. A little sanding. Done.

Two things.... 1. How many times did you touch the oven as a kid Scott before you realized it was hot? and 2. get yourself a 4.00 window screen at home depot before your wife kills you.

Nope guys Beth is a saint, she will not hurt Scott for using the strainer. She'll make him a kings breakfast and love him all the same. Remember he's poetic, that's why he can get away with this.

Glad you got the blaster working Scott. Straining the sand is allot easier fix than having to deal with lumps in it if it's not dry. So you like the pressure pot now huh?

Got bear-caught today. Didn't think I was going to make it back into the house. I was drinking water for the first half of the day, but just forgot about it during the second half, and I didn't eat anything. Got in the house and flopped on the floor, feeling bad. Drank water and laid under the fan, then got up to eat. Amazing how fast you get to feeling better.

Clay's Jeep got new U-joints, driveshaft painted, gas tank repainted and reinstalled, wiring made up for fuel sender, grill sandblasted and primed, shocks flipped, started blasting the rims, valve cover breather and new grommets, and some wrong parts that need to go back to the store.
