A little TOO devious in this case! I kind of hammered Clay about losing my tools, and it was Jake all along. It had a happy ending!

Here's a good pic of the torque arm and the tranny sitting on the bolt head. Yours is straight compared to mine. My CJ7, using it as a reference, is also bent, but the bolt head does not hit the T176/D300 combo.

Also, do y'all think my DS angle is too much?? I have a DC driveshaft to go in but it may be too long. How much travel should a DS have? I have a shim kit (to lower the transmission) that came on the Jeep. I removed it when I removed the 8" shackles! I assumed I wouldn't need it, but I was comparing it, again, to my 7, which is longer. So it's apples to oranges!

I'm not familiar with the year of the 5, but it sure looks like a home made arm that is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches too short. Looks like there is another hole in the skid a little further out. I really can't see it functioning properly being so short.

If you look at your 7, you should see a longer arm. And it should be flat, like the one in my pic.

Yep- there surely is another hole farther out. Now, if I can get a company to send me the CORRECT piece the FIRST time! Thanks for your help.

Ha, I'm the last of seven. Four boys, three girls all in perfect alternating order. I've always said my parents stopped when they reached perfection.

Oh and Jeep related, I agree your torque arm is useless as pictured.

That's a BIG family... which I happen to like! I can't imagine how detail oriented your siblings must be!!

Was just reviewing your torque arm build... may have to do the same thing. Glad you take great pictures!!

You could probably make your own. Get some square or rectangular tube at the width and length you need and cut it with about a half inch or maybe a little less side wall, enough to give it strength not to bend. Then drill your holes. Use the mount to match the holes for the trans and then the skid for the outermost hole.
