Scott you remember the part in the Bible where Paul instructed the women to be quiet? Maybe you should read that to here, let me know how it goes.
There is no way I'm going down alone, Buddy! Everytime I get on JF she walks in here and says, "What's Jim saying now?" You are so busted!!! Wait until my roommate calls your roommate!

You'd better hope she never reads this. I will take a pay pal payment so that she doesn't hear it from me Bill.

Seems that I have gotten some sort of reputation, quite undesrved I might add. I'll be thinking something up in my defense. I may have to learn to write poetry.

Scott you did an excellent job of getting that broken bolt out of the grill. Well instructed too.

Tear gas training... YIKES! Congrats on the Beamer... I guess. Makes me sad too! Wifey says to use the money to buy YOUR wifey some flowers! But I guess she's getting tires instead!? That's awesome!!

Clay came home from school today with a big smile on his face. I asked him what he was so happy about... he said that he passed the welding test with a 73! Which happened to be the cutoff between passing and failing! I asked him why he was proud of that, and he said that he was one of only four guys, out of 20, that passed! Clay is a memebr of Phi Theta Kappa at 16, so he doesn't screw around with his school. Is it possible that welding is that difficult? It's been 25 years since I took welding in college, and I don't remember it being hard.

He got to melt steel with a cutting torch today, and he got to do some stick welding... just running a bead across a piece of 3/8 plate. He brought it home to show me! I was gonna post a pic of his beads but forgot!! Today was his first day with the tools. He is really liking his cool Miller auto-darkening helmet!

Very nice!!! I need a cutting torch. I don't know what I'd cut, but it would sure be cool!!!! I made do with my grinder, though!!!

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

Congratulations to Clay!

Glad that he's enjoying the class. We'll be looking forward to the pictures too.

Being one of four is nothing to scoff at he was in the top 20%.
Welding is not that bad once you get the hang of it, but then again your first times doing it and knowing you are getting graded can make some of us nervous. Not to mention that no one is a pro at the begining.

When I was in shop class the teacher didn't let us adjust the welder at all so if it was set up too hot for us we had to deal with it. Maybe his teacher had it set up wonky or had crappy electrodes w/e the case may be.

Tell Clay to keep his smile he earned it! I have a project I am going to start here soon and I have been reading and following this build I read almost all of it and It has really given me confidence so you guys should know that your build thread is more than just a story or a progression for some of us. I can't wait for the next post and I check the thread constantly. I am living vicariously through your build since I cant start mine yet.
