3 months since taking it apart? We wold have been working on the frame at that time. Nowhere near running. It's been 3 1/2 years since we pulled the engine out! I did take several months-long breaks when I got tired of it, but this has been delayed mostly due to finances.

Oh that just sound delightful. My longest break has been about a month. Bit over the weekend I logged about 24+ hours on it. And more to come this week.

Determination and dedication are characteristics lost on youth today. Way to go, Trent.

I have some questions about the top. I want to install it so I can be sure the WS is in the right place, as I have some serious "gappage" going on! After really looking at it this morning, I think it is the A pillar that is off! I don't guess it really matters, but I do want to determine a way to fasten the top of the WS frame to the A pillar to keep it rigid when driving. Also, I need ya'll to tell me "what to do"! Here is our situation.

I am hoping to get my outside work done before this forms up and gets here. I have always liked the way a storm comes in from the horizon.

Showing a LeBra. If this was for a Mustang I would know how to apply it! But what does it do on a CJ?

Before I install everything permanently, is this bow supposed to go over the roll bar? I swear I measured all this to clear, but the Jeep has changed!

How do the straps work, and where do they go?

Is the top supposed to tuck in under this rail?

What am I missing for this connection, and is it available? How does it go on?

Serious gappage! Notice how the WS frame is touching the A pillar at the driver's side, and the 3/4" gap at Pass side...

I have a phone interview in an hour and 12 minutes. And my wife made me an excellent breakfast! I would show you pics, buuuuut....

Here's how my soft top hardware is set up...excuse my jeep's raincoat!

You will need these brackets that screw to the sides of the windshield frame. Your top (back-to-front) sliding crosspiece will snap into these brackets. I've seen them from time to time on ebay...not sure if they're available new...

You'll need these door clips. These are what the door latches to...

Those straps are to wrap around the bars, when they are in the down position, so that the bars don't rattle around. The little plastic end snaps under the side rail...

The 2-piece top-of-the windshield brackets just get screwed down. You won't need the snap that is on the end of mine. That is for when I use my bimini top...

The top DOES tuck under that rear keeper bracket...

You can see where that front crossbar ends up. It's the highest point of the soft top...

I have one of those in my transfer case. I think it provides a hidden lower gear.

Cheers!
