cj8 half top

i got a line on a half top from a cj8. i was think about using it for my cj5 and was thinking all i have to do is us a windsheiled from a 76 or newer cj. right?????

i have a 1975 cj5 with a glass body

Pretty sure id have to change the side mirror mounts and door hinges to. Has any one done this with a 72 75 cj

Doubt it. The CJ7 and CJ8 have a different shaped tub at the top rail than the CJ5. The CJ8 half top is designed to fit over the angled top rail of the tub, which the CJ5 doesn't have. Besides that there's the issue of the bulkhead. You'd have to design your own bulkhead as the CJ8 one definitely won't work in a CJ5. Final point is the issue of doors. What would you do for doors? The CJ5 soft doors won't work with the CJ8 top.

i have a glass tub so that should take care of the top rail but i didnt think about the doors. damn and i reely wanted a half top.

The "bedsides" of the 5 and 6 are also lower then the rails on a 7 and 8.
