CJ8 front drive shaft

I recently purchased a 1982 CJ8 (Dana300 transfer case / Dana 30 front axle) and the guy did the 4.0L swap in it. He never installed a new front drive shaft and ive been told that i can't use a OEM one because it won't fit after the swap. Does anybody have any reference or experience on this?

You should still be able to use the stock shaft. The transfer case has nothing to do with the engine as far as i can tell. I say climb under and put it all in place if it fits right ur good to go

The OEM one should fit, unless the trans was swapped too. A 4.0 takes the same space as the OEM 258 engine, no moving back or forward.
