CJ7 Tranny Swap/Conversion Auto to Manual

Has anyone out there converted an auto tranny to a manual on a CJ7?
I am looking into purchasing a 1980 CJ and it is automatic.
I previously owned a YJ and can not imagine owning a jeep that is not manual.
Is it worth my effort (both time and money) to replace the tranny with a manual or should I just wait until another CJ comes my way with a manual?

I went the opposite way with my 7 and other than the pedals, it was a piece of cake. Of course I bought an auto that came out of the same motor/trans-case setup. Good luck.
