CJ7 Tach elimination

How do I eliminate the stock (1985 CJ7 258) tach? I recently purchased a set of aftermarket stepper motor speedo and tach: wish to eliminate the stock one, realizing that it is part of the ignition circuit, the Jeep will not run without it (so I have it tucked under the dash LOL).

Unplug the stock tach from the harness under the dash. Plug the two harness side connectors to each-other. Done.

As usual, Ken is spot on.

Here's the pic that should help. Just plug the two connectors labeled "Tach Plug" together.
