CJ7 Steering Question??

My 82 CJ7 steers almost twice has deep to the right as it does to the left. Is this normal or am I missing something obvious. It doesn't appear that anything is making contact???

Did you lift it and not adjust the draglink to make up for the additional distance between the passenger knuckle and pitman arm?

Nope, not normal.

Has it always been like this?
What CSP said, and the limiting bolt on the knuckel, drivers side.

The jeep has been lifted but before I bought it. It has steered like this since I've had it. How exactly do you adjust the draglink? I'm pretty sure the limiting bolt is not interfering with the steering.

When the tires are pointing straight, check to see where the pitman arm is. If it is off to one side of center, there is the problem.

Post a couple pictures of the front axle steering setup. Are you sure the front is a Dana30?

This post inspired me to adjust my steering wheel to be straight. After further inspection I found that my steering was hampered in the right turn vs. left as the OP stated. However, mine was not hitting the stops. I dropped the pitman arm and found that my steering was being limited to the right by the steering gearbox's internal stops. I guess I wasn't paying attention when I installed the gearbox and didn't line it up right. Once I centered the steering grearbox and made a small adjustment at the adj. tube I was good to go. Thanks for the inspiration!

The front axle is a dana 30. I'll try this evening to check the pitman arm and gearbox.
