cj7 steering binding - need help

i have an 86 cj7, stock front axle, that has been sitting for about six months. up and running now except for steering. it binds as it steers through steering range. i put a new pump on it hoping that was problem. no help. it binds the way a socket wrench does with a universal joint that is cammed too much. it binds, then frees, about every 1/4 turn of wheel all the way through range. your help is appreciated

Check the joints in the steering shaft. I kinda have the same problem too but I'm starting to think its the steering box.
CJ 7, with the good stuff.
