CJ7 motor swap to a 350.

Ok, I have a 258 I6 that is worn out. I am thinking of doing a swap to a 350. I found a great deal on an LT1 350 motor. What I would like to know is how difficult the swap is. What parts will I need to do the swap. Keep in mind that I want to keep the fuel injection on the motor. Is there any prep work I can do with the 258 still in the jeep to make the swap go easier. Is it worth swapping to the 350 or should I stick with the 258? All opinions and suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance for your time.

not much you can do with the motor in

you will need a motor mount set up -- adapters for the motor to tranny -- might need new driveshafts or mod them

A few things that quickly come to mind...

> Engine Mounts
>Maybe new tranny mount
>Adapter to mate engine/tranny
>Maybe a new tranny to handle stronger motor
>Conversion Radiator
>Conversion Headers or manifolds
>New exhaust
>New hoses
>New fuel lines to handle injection
>Fuel Pump matched to injection system
>Wiring Harness (either complete, splice in or do your own)
>Different driveshafts
>Maybe stronger axles
>Nuts and Bolts

.. that should get you started.

Change the cam also, it is setup for RPMs and you will need low end torque for the trails.

Do it right the first time !

Do some searching & reading, get the swap manual from Advance Adapters. People have been swapping 350's into CJ's for *decades* so there's plenty of info out there. The LT1 is a little more complicated from a wiring standpoint but there are enough resources out there since 350 swaps into just about anything are pretty common that you can easily find places that'll setup your harness for you, burn custom ROM's, etc.
