Post CJ7 found a knock

I have a 1986 CJ7, straight 6 and a 5 speed manual tranny. Just recently, I started getting a knock. It doesn't happen all of the time, but you would swear that it is coming up through the gear shift. There doesn't seem to be any change in power or anything when the knock occurs. Thanks for any info.

1986 Renegade CJ7, 258 straight 6, 4 inch Pro Comp lift, 33 inch Super Swampers (TSL Radial), Double Trail Master steering stabilizer, cool set of aircraft seat restraints.

Can you describe a little better the "situation" that it will make it occur?

Need a little more detail. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Try opening the door and seeing whose there <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Have you looked underneath to see if you've picked up a hitchhiker
It's not so much a labor of love as it is shear determination.
