Cj CJ7 Automatic Tilt Steering Column Parts Needed

Hello... I am building a 1979 CJ7... this is the third one I have built... I currently just rebuilt a tilt steering column for it but I am having all kinds of problems locating the gear indicator housing, the lens and pointer for it. I have beat the internet to death trying to locate one... I watch eBay daily... and everywhere else I can think of.... I tried a Chevy column but that part was too small and didn't connect the same way. I'm at a total loss... any help would be greatly appreciated..... I am also looking for the bracket that bolts to the proportioning valve that holds the bell housing part of the linkage. I have gotten all the rest of the linkage except that one piece. Again any help would be great!!!

Thanks

I may know of where to get your parts...but i have a question..

Is this for an automatic? i'd assume so but wanted to make sure.

pics of parts needed would help me make sure.

Those things came in several different styles, are very hard to find, and are very expensive when you do find them. Best bet is going to be to keep an eye on local salvage yards for J trucks and Waggys. I had one that a guy was more than happy to pay me $60 for just that little plastic part. If it's the type that's retained by the little springs clip, be very careful removing or installing, as they are very easy to break.

Yes it is for an automatic... It's an Automatic tilt column... the transmission is a Chrys. A999 I attached pictures of the parts that I have. The black housing was all busted and I glued it back together the best I could and used body filler to try and hide the cracks... the lens has lost the gear markings... and the pointer is broken. I tried a pointer and lens from a Chevy column but the lens was too small and the pointer wasn't long or big enough... And it seems that Jeep columns are the only ones that attach with the clip.... That I have found. So I'm trying to locate better ones for the column.

I think I have exactly that part, laying around, somewhere. Let me see if I can find it. Where are you located?

Just in case I can't find it, I know an '84 J10 uses that style. That's where I got the one I have/had.

The spacing is different for the TF999 gear indicator than it is for the TH400 used in the quadratracs.

I had a quadratrac indicator, and the needle didn't line up right.

I can't find those parts. I think I sent them with a column that I traded for the tilt column, I have in my CJ. I'll keep my eyes open for another one.
