cj7 2" suspension lift with 32" or 33" tire pics?

I am trying to decide on whether to have 32 or 33 tires with a 2" suspension lift. Does anyone have any CJ pics with this setup?

Suspension lifts start at 2.5", not 2". Either size tire will fit, but if you do more than street driving and very mild trails, you won't have much room to allow for suspension flex with the 33's. As for pics, spend some time going through the CJ roll call post (it's a sticky at the top of the forum)...tons of pics of various setups in there and you'll find some more if you search as these 'pic request' posts are fairly common.

Thanks.. my reason for the request is I am looking a 2" that I saw rancho advertised (http://www.quadratec.com/products/16031_010.htm ) . I looked through all the readers' pics on several jeep forums and only see 33" with 2.5" lifts. I have always wanted my CJ to look a certain way ans was hoping to find a 2" with 31 or 32's... surprisingly...I have found but one or two by looking through the pics in the forum so far.

Small, fine shavings are ok, large chunks are bad, huge chunks with part number stamped on them are real bad.

that 2inch lift kit is expensive. ive seen some brands sell 2.5 inch kits for half that price

The Superlift is a 2.5" (care to guess what I have on my rig?). Probably about the best riding/flexing of the low-priced kits once you loosen the spring clamps and give 'em a trail run or two to break them in a bit. Rancho does not enjoy a good reputation for ride quality & flex...you're paying for the name with that one from what I've seen. I've gotten them to work better on other peoples' rigs with the same treatment as the Superlift springs which makes them worth no more to me than what Superlift sells for. I know I've posted these before, but here's my rig before I added more lift and moved up to 35's with the 2.5" Superlift springs, Tomken shackles (adds another 1/2" of lift), and 32's:

Even if I do minor offroading? I wouldn't expect the spring to compress driving around as a DD. But if that is the case I will have to go with 32's. Wouldn't it be better to put a 2.5" on the front and a 2" in the rear since the front is heavier? If they are both the same heigth wont the front be lower than the rear?

That's what bumpstops are for. Once you get offroad, you'll find out whether or not it works for you...if it doesn't it's a simple matter of adding a little more lift or doing a little sawz-all work and putting different flares on the back to cover up your handiwork. The springs are designed with the knowledge that the front has to support the weight of the engine, so mix-matching different height springs will just leave you with your *ss-end sitting low. You *do* realize that you'll probably want/need to regear your axles as well, right?

This is my CJ with 2.5" lift, 33" LTB's. Haven't run it, but I was looking for 4" springs, found these for $50, and the tires are too expensive for me to replace now.

My thinking is get it together and run it some, maybe go for a 1" BL and maybe some trimming.

I don't know.

I've had the opposite experience with Rancho. Their 2.5 inch springs were great. The rear sagged about 1" in 9 years. The fronts held up fine. My friend's Superlift sagged to stock height in 1 year.

Your shocks make a huge difference in the "feeling" of the springs. I had two CJ5's with Rancho 2.5" - one with Rancho 5000 shocks and one with Rancho adjustable 9000 shocks. The Rancho 5000's road uncomfortably stiff. The 9000's were very smooth. First reaction would normally be to blame the springs, but the shocks made the difference.

If Rancho made 4" springs I'd buy them, but they don't. I bought Skyjacker 4" springs and they sagged 2" after only 200 miles! I swapped them for Rubicon Express 4" which I have installed, but not had on the road yet.

Here is a picture of my 9 year old Rancho 2.5" with 9 year old 32 MT's the day I pulled them.

thanks for the pics.. that is the exact look I am looking for.. perfect blend of lift and tires.

not on a 7 but if he has a 5 maybe. but i ran mine like that for a long time it saw a lot of flex and never rubbed.
