CJ6 Craigslist Gold

Found and bought this CJ6 with clean non-op title on CL.

Lots of work to do. As soon as I get my CJ5 on the road this is next.

Its a 67 CJ6 not a CJ5. Seems to be a rare care over there. i have one the same here waiting for some love. When you get a chance, can you take a photo of the firewall so i can see what the differance is between the Aussie ones and the US ones. We have a square gearbox cowling.

VooDoo do you want a picture of the engine side of the firewall or inside? I have a 63 CJ6 that doesn't have an engine in the way of seeing the firewall.

Nice find. I've never seen a 6, I've been thinking about one. The longer wheel base for snowy roads and cargo room would be nice.

Whats a clean non-op title? In NJ we have a clean title or a salvage title. Just curious what it is.

It has a Buick V6 but the heads are removed. It's all there though and bone stock to the wheels.

I'll get the photos or the firewall for you VooDoo when I get home. I have been to Brisbane when I was in the military.

I actually paid $400-people on Craigs List were calling as I was driving and offering more, in some cases a lot more. The people also told him it was a CJ6 so he knew what he had by the time I got there. Long story short he wasn't going to honor the deal but felt bad and said if I gave him an extra $100 he would sell it to me. I go back to pick it up Saturday when I can get a trailer.

WaterDog, a clean title means it's still in the DMV system with no back fees owed. Non-op means it's non-operational in the DMV system. That means no need for me to register it every other year until I get her running again.

Absolut luck purchase-I saw it first!

Got her home today.

The guy I bought it from didn’t do me any favorers with cleaning the trash out of it. It was caked in almond husks and walnut shells-EVERYWHERE.

It also had some trash which he let me put in the burn pile and apparently his chickens liked the Jeep because it had 3 eggs in it that were relatively fresh.

Anyway when I got her home I cleaned out the mess and discovered the tub isn’t as pristine as I thought it was. Being a farm Jeep the tub floor was dented and sagging in places. The driver side wheel well was also wrinkled from getting hit.

For the money I’m still way ahead.

Here are some photos. VooDoo, I’ll get those firewall photos for you soon.

I haven’t really decided what I’m going to do with it yet.

With the exception of the windshield, roll bar, and seats it is all there and bone stock.

I’m leaning towards a V8 conversion but haven’t made my mind up yet.

The tub needs a lot of work, I may look for a donor tub and avoid that headache. I know I can sell this tub for someone’s crawler project to chop up.

Regardless it’ll sit for a while, I need to finish my CJ5 first.

VooDoo, here are the firewall photos you asked for.

Was told the CJ6 didn't come with a roll bar.

Some didn't have a back seat.

My lesson for the day.

Been thinking of what to do with this build.

The CJ6 is 100% stock and more importantly all the parts are there. Should I return it to stock condition or convert it?

If I returned her to stock I'd sell it. If I converted it I'd keep it.

What is a restored stock 1967 CJ6 worth?
