cj5 tub on a cj7?

Hello everybody. I have an 85 cj7 with a rusty tub. I just saw an 81 cj5 on Craigslist, as a parts jeep with a good tub. Has anybody out there tried swapping tubs? Is it possible, and if so is it worth the hassle? And also, does anybody know if the electric fan off a 95 xj will mount in a cj7 with a 258? Thanks

The 7 frame will be longer, surely it can be done. Don't know about how easy or what it would look like when finished tho.

Unless you add 10" to the tub it won't fit, and even then the door opening shape won't be correct.

Kinda what I figured. Didn't really know where all the differences in the 5's and 7's were. Still might get it, just to build a 5, too. Thanks
