Question CJ5 Tilt steering column question

Did Jeep ever have these type of tilt steering columns with a lockout lever on the end of them. Please see pic If so, what year? I read they lock the transmission in reverse when key is removed and in park, but unsure.

Thanks

How does it lock the transmission in reverse when it's in park?? It's a mechanical linkage and not an electronic transmission.

This is what I read I honestly don't understand it, but I am just trying to see if they came on CJ's. I edited the post. Thanks for letting me know.

I had a 71' Corvette that had one. it was a 4-speed, and a cable ran to the shifter on the side of the trans. You had to put the trans in reverse to rotate the lock back far enough to get the key out. Don't think Jeep ever had it as it took an external linkage to make it work.
