CJ5 rear end ringing under load. dana 44

Wheeled the willys this weekend and ended up with a sound coming from my rear end. Sounds almost like an old telephone ringing. Comes under load and turning and is RPM dependant.

I thought I ripped up my rear end, but upon pulling the cover there was no metal shavings in the fluid and the detroit looked to be in good order. The ring gear appeared to have normal and even wear but I didn't have a light to look at the pinion.

Could be a rear axle shaft maybe? The left rear wheel has about 10* play in each direction before the other wheel starts spinning. I'm just hoping I didn't eat my pinion or locker somehow.

55 cj5 willys. Dana 18 x-case, 44 rear end(passanger side drop), detroit locker in the rear. 30 front end, locked. 5:38 gears. 33 inch super swampers. Buick 231 motor with some work done to it, turbo 350 automatic tranny.

If your happy with the rear, I would check the driveline. Inspect the U joints, slip joint, the driveline itself for dings or missing balancing weights, the t case output yoke for wear/end play or anything else you can find that may cause a harmonic vibration.
