cj5 project
I have lots of questions but will try to ask only one thing at a time. I have a 1980 cj5 which I think is stock. I want to install the RE 4.5 lift but was wondering if doing a YJ conversion on the front springs would make a difference? The CJ R.E. lift already changes the width but does it make them longer also? Any advantages or am I trying to make thing to complicated?

Great tech article from earlycj5.com:
http://www.earlycj5.com/tech/SpringsShocks/yjconv/index.shtml Note that the springs being replaced were 1.75" in width, while yours should currently be 2", but the procedure is roughly the same.
