Cut a square of 'landscapers cloth' and mount on the backside of the dash slots before mounting the speaker. It is black, and will let the airwaves pass without distortion, but is enough of a barrier that most of the dust, and water droplets will not pass. Hardware stores, Lowes, HD sell this stuff by the roll.

I did something similar to keep dust and harmful UV rays from the sun from destroying the speakers. The screen will keep water out to a point, since it is a fine mesh screen. My speakers also have the baffles installed as shown above too.







They are held in place by the speakers themselves.
