CJ5 harddoors

I've been looking around and can't seem to find harddoors anywhere.... I have a 1975 CJ5, and I wanna run full harddoors with glass windows with a bikini top... does anyone make harddoors with rollup glass windows for a CJ5?... quadratec only has softdoors... I'm still new to the CJ5 scene so maybe there's an easy answer?..

You might find hard doors, but I don't think they will have "roll down" windows. Due to the design of the CJ5 I don't see how any door could have roll down windows- nowhere for the glass to roll down to. I have seen steel/aluminum diamond plate half-doors. I believe Warrior makes them- they are for sale in Q-tec.

I've seen them. I also beleive they are for the older CJ5s. At the time, I wanted them for my 78 CJ5, but they wouldn't fit. I think the 75's and older were shaped a little different. Anyway, they do exist, but you may not find aftermarket ones, may have to watch ebay for one of those old metal tops with metal doors.

i have a full hard top for a pre 76 cj5. i got it and was told it came off a 79. uhh no. my windshield frame is too slanted for the doors, they are more verticle. so obviously this is for a pre 76 cj5 where the windshield frame is more upright (at least this is what im thinking, if im wrong someone speak up). anywho i have no use for it, im actually considering one of those fastback rock gear inc top thingys since they seem to be back in business and have a different look to em(different look was what i was going for with the hardtop that does not fit....). If you want the whole top, shoot me a pm. oh yea the windows roll up and down inside the doors.

You might want to check this place out. It states they have hard tops for the CJ 5. I assume they must have the doors also.

Good luck!

Most of the older CJ5's with steel tops had roll down windows because the doors were designed to fit outside the body. The new fiberglass doors are contured to fit in the opening and usually use sliding windows.

off the top of my head, '76 was the year they changed the slant of the winshield frame. i think the wheelbase was a few inches longer too. if i have my years correct then yes, '75 comes before '76 so you should be good no but seriously i would look into the years to make sure, cause im not positive. i have a glass body too. the top is in 6 pieces. the doors, top, sides, and the rear hatch. the sides fit up fine to my glass body. then i moved to the doors and realized they were for the earlier models so i didnt go any further. i know that the fiberglass is thicker than metal but as far as mounting a top is concerned i dont think it makes any difference. that thickness comes into play when mounting things through the tub like pedals and linkages, so for the top you should be fine. sorry bout my pm's, ill clear it out now.......

Windshield frame angle changed in '76.

If yours looks like any of these it's a 55-75 style.
http://earlycj5.com/tech/body/windsh...indshields.php

If the wiper motor is inside and the WS angles back more it's a '76+.

Doors should be bought accordingly.

Sparky

Okay, yeah I know, it's a seven-year old thread.....I have the same top on the 1976 CJ-5 I'm picking up tomorrow.

What brand is it? I've looked all over the net and have found pics of it, but no name.....kinda like my old '76.

Looks like an old Acme top...

And what about the rest of the (new) Jeep

(i'm stuck in JK land nowadays, and have to live my CJ era dreams vicariously)
