cj5 or grand wagoneer

I have a 1979 cj5 special silver edition that has no motor in it and i recently aquired a grand wagoneer that has all the parts i need to get the cj5 running. My question is would it be better to get the cj running and part out the wagoneer or rebuild the tranny in the wagoneer and sell the cj5?

Dont really know what you mean by "better"... so based of off that I guess it depends on if you want a CJ5 or you want a waggy.....

If you want a CJ build the CJ....

If you want a waggy build the waggy...

FWIW-I've always wanted to build a waggy with no top and a full cage- a local guy here built a kick-@$$ one a few years back, and I totally dug it.

does the waggy have the 360/727 combo, or? is it AWD?

I say it all depends on the body condition of both. I'd rather have a good running waggy thats nice, than a CJ5 that runs good but the body is all rusted to hell.

They're worth $$$ according to who? In what condition?

If they are worth anything it would be in stock form and swapping in a 360 ruins that.
