CJ5 Build

Just thought I'd post some pics of my '78 CJ5. Bought March '07 and started tearing into it in September.

I've got it stripped down to the frame and am in the middle of cleaning up all the parts and painting them before reassembly. The rear frame where the shackle hangers go was pretty rotted which seems to be typical of these old CJ's. Here are some pics of the new frame repairs and bumper.

The front axle is in good shape....just needed cleaned up and ball joints replaced.

Ordered the fiberglass tub in Dec, but it's still not here
So for now I'll Por-15 the frame, axles, and most other parts exterior to the tub.

I was suppossed to be driving by now lol , but oh well. Cleaned up some parts, replaced the ball joints, bolted up the axles and started to fit the fiberglass body.

Still need to figure on a body color and decide if I want to use my 304 or upgrade to a 360.
