CJ Tech CD discussion,

Well, I pulled the trigger on the domain name and web hosting.
The first year is paid for by me.
If it doesn't support it's self after the first year from donations, then I will roll that domain name into my vanity/private pages.

I have CivilianJeep.info domain name, and this service will be 'Free', donations only if the information works for you for the time being.

We are looking for articles, we have people like LEVE and John Strenk volunteering to edit and prepare articles for publication.

If you want to submit an article, then get off your duff and write it, take pictures, make drawings or diagrams, or what ever it's going to take!

All articles MUST INCLUDE A RELEASE TO THE 'CivilianJeep.info' site!
Once submitted, the article is the sole properly of the 'Civilian Jeep.Info' project!

If you want credit, Include it in the article.
If you want links to your web site, again, include it in the article information so it can be included in the pages by the editors!

This is NON-PROFIT.
This is NON-BIASED.
This is NO ADVERTISEMENT.
Any brand names listed in the pictures or articles are there strictly because the author or editors felt that was the best parts/items/brands to use in that situation!

I've run totally free websites for my Jeep hobby and other things for years without donations, charging or advertisements, and I fully intend to run this one that way as long as we can...

you should be running your domain off a solar-powered server

Nope, letting GO DADDY host it.
We may move it later when we have our business information servers and our advertisement/hobby stuff server separated...

Right now the IT guy thinks open access letting the editors have access to our business server is a BAD IDEA... And what he says goes!
Besides, I'm not paying $12,000 for for new server, access to high speed, anti virus and security software, and the server software for a FREE ACCESS site!

Much more simple and easy to just pay 'Go Daddy' and get it over with!
Besides, now a bunch of this stuff is 'Go Daddy's' headache and we can concentrate on content, not hosting & security issues!

But the right word at the right time... "Hey, give me a little hug!" That's the difference between lightning and a harmless lightning bug!

Just did some more on it a little bit ago, need to wait 24 hours for that to go through,
Passwords for the site and stuff...

I hope you aren't expecting a air dropped fully functioning site!
I barely know how to get things posted on my company site!
This is going to be a learning curve for me, and once I get things to post, I can start putting up articles and links to those articles.

Remember, these are USER WRITTEN articles!
If you all don't contribute, there won't Be any articles!

JeepHammer, are you going to put some of your info on this site? Is this going to take the place of a CD that you where thinking about?

We've been talking about making the entire site as a down-loadable file so you can download and burn your own copy.
This will allow you to get updated downloads with the new information to keep your copy 'Up To Date'.

I'm fighting scripting errors right now, once I figure that out, I can get some information on the site!
http://www.CivilianJeep.Info

Anyone want to come up with a Logo for CivilianJeep.Info, feel free to submit it!
CivilianJeep.Info @ gmail.com
You will have to copy the email address and take the spaces out of it.
I don't want script robots to fill the address with spam, so you will just have to live with that...

Remember, articles, logos, pictures, submissions of any kind MUST come with a RELEASE so the CivilianJeep.Com Project owns the information or what ever.
We aren't taking things on loan and I don't want to have problems if someone gets mad later and wants to pull their article, picture, image, diagram or whatever...

GPER, you don't get to come there unless you shoot us some pages!

I KNOW you have good stuff, I've seen your work before!
