That is a nice, clean, and low mileage CJ7 there. Welcome to the group.

Newbiw CJ5

Hi everyone! Just signed up and I am brand new in the jeep world. I always wanted one to play with but talked myself out of it and always messed around with hot rods and such.
Well I bit the bullet and picked up an 81 CJ5 a few weeks back.
Gonna paint and install body armor, front stinger type bumper with winch, can, jack, lights, nerf bars and such.
No plans on replacing the top and the one on it now is going the way of the DoDo bird.
Since these pics I have removed the rear seat and added 4 point harnesses.
Removed seat has no rips or tears and is just faded. Will list it in the for sale area when I figure it out.
I look forward to learning from you all and riding with ya'll.

Hello. I'm new to the jeep world and to the site. I figured I'd show mine because everyone else is showing theirs.

Thank you. And to be honest. I got the jeep from a buddy. He was the Marine.

I know there are other links out there, but I can't find some of my bookmarked links.

What kind of 4 inch lift? I see you've painted some of the front suspension. Is all of that stock?

That is a 4 inch lift, I don't know what kind but I guess it was a cheap one since the ride was horrible so I took the 2nd from the bottom leaf out of all 4 corners and now it rides and flexes great. The tie rod is a heavy duty one from rusties of road, besides that everything is stock.

Owned an 84 CJ7 when I lived in PA, moved back to Mass with it, then when my first kid was on the way, got rid of it. Had a TJ years later, but got rid of that when it rusted out from under me. Just got this 74 CJ5 last week. Needs lots of work, which I stink at, but this will be my first jeep that isn't my daily driver. Gonna need to frequent this forum a lot in the next coming weeks if I want to get this thing up and running before the 4th.
