Sorry it's taken so long to reply.

It's the onboard air. Chevy A/C converted to onboard air. A small tank is next to the motor, in front of the battery. Supplies air through the hook up out front to air up the tires/air tools and to the front ARB. Works really well too.

Now I need a rear locker.

Here's my '82 CJ-7. I've owned several Jeeps, and have another '84 CJ-7 in pieces.

Anyway; AMC 401, T18, Twin-sticked Dana 300, 35" Mickey Thompsons

Found out recently that the front is locked. Rear is not.

If you want an idea of how to put an OBA system like his together, check out Kilby's web site. Kilby has complete kits for a lot of applications, and his setups are outstanding. However, once you get the idea you can cobble one together yourself for not a lot of coin using a functional A/C compressor and associated brackets, a capable tank equivalent (a buddy used an old fire extinguisher), a manifold to mount your pressure switch(es) and ports, some lines, chucks, etc. FWIW, I had a Kilby system on my former YJ that was possibly the best mod on the entire rig. Used it to pressure the front ARB as well using a pressure limiting valve. Had air chucks front & rear, all connected using 18 wheeler plastic air brake line & simple push connectors. Rocked!

I took these pics this weekend as I was starting on replacing the power steering pump. The previous owner cut out the fender to fit the tank but they installed a thick portion of mud flap type material to seal around the tank where it pokes through the fender. I haven't rubbed a tire on it either so it seems to function. Looks like he used a pressure switch from a standard air compressor. This certainly was not a kit. Switch to turn it on is in the cab.

Thank you! I thought I needed the York compressor to make it work. Don't you need one with an oil sump?

Working on the plow jeep this week 4.10 axles and S-10 bastard pack!
