Thanks! It doesn't look quite as nice anymore, sitting in the barn covered in dust. It's got a 3.8 V6 with Holly F.I., SM420/Dana18, Dana44 with Detroit/Ford 9 inch with a spool and 4:88 gears. SOA on 36" TSLs. Hope to do a complete rebuild with a new frame next year, still debating what direction I want to go with it.
That is the s&%t right there brother! That is a very very good looking CJ, steering wheel on the right (correct) side and all. Your front indicators look way too good though. Are they new/old/original or has your bus always in the shed? What's the deal? Mine are a bit faded and are next to impossible to find. I have tracked down a new left side unit but no right side. Not to worry, they're not that bad.
Hey do you reckon your boys are the goods this year against the Maroons or will it be a repeat of the last few years?
these indicators are indicators mounted on the european versions for european market, while original american indicators are to central;
it is ever possible to buy these parts in Europe and was mounted also on the Renault farm tractors.
You speak about steering wheel on the right: it is probably an english cars
My 79 I just picked up. Future plans are to restore it to mostly stock. Near future plans are to drive/enjoy to make sure all the expensive pieces are good. I know it looks rough, but so far I'm very happy with it, believe it or not, as rough as the body is, the frame is solid and it runs and drives excellant. Every time I get it on the road it improves my day!
I am assuming it is the same CJ that you posted in the Collin Brothers thread a month or so ago:
Looks like you have added some OG parts to it: fog lights, roll bar padding, spare tire cover, different aftermarket wheels, etc.
Two quick questions for you:
1. Where did you ever find such a clean, unmolested Laredo?
2. What model rims are those? Although kinda hard to see in the pics, it looks like M/T (Mickey Thompson) on the rear center caps, but I couldn't find them on their website? I like them for a CJ, as they look similar to the OG slots.
Good eye.....They are actually 15x8 mickey thompson challengers...vintage 80's wheels. They discountinued them alone time ago. I bought them off a friend and had them repolished for a couple of hundred bucks. They turned out sweet. I have a set of original 15x7 slots going on my 78. Hard too track down nutmeg stuff also discountined...It's coming along nicely.. Jeep came out of Arizonza 110% rust free. never even had a rattle can sprayed under neath. No surface rust anywhere.orginal paint under the fenders too...
