I'm glad to see that there are still some out and about. The first Jeep I helped my Dad restore was a '46 2A that someone had put a floor shifter in sometime in its life and hacked up what was left of the column shifter.

Yea, someone had done the same to this one. Hacked a big hole in the floor, took a torch to the shift column. Cut the seat frames up. Lost most of the small hardware peices that go in the inside when they painted it that red color. Which a lot are still missing.

Not much to look at, yet, but I'm pretty proud of it. Built it in the back yard of a rental house, 1000 miles from home, in Pennsylvania where I was working last year... Started with a 600 dollar frame and drivetrain, to what you see here, in 3 months of nights and weekends. I bought and chased down everything, except the engine mods, from Craigslist. I also converted that tub from a YJ... Drove it onto the trailer the day we left Pa., for Iowa, and have since put nearly 500 miles on the Jeep since I've been home. I got the rolling chassis, the hood, the grill, the tailgate (which I forgot in Pa.), the dash and interior (tan Levi), a YJ roll bar and 4 boxes of loose parts for my 600 bucks. Oh ya, it came with a new 4" superlift and shocks, but the PO had the front and rear springs installed on the opposite ends of where they belonged... This Chassis has 33,000 original miles..

I saw the thread you started about a month ago concerning the Scrambler. What happened with that one?
This is a sharp looking '7!

Well, the scrambler needed a lot more work which I was willing to do, but then at random I found this rig. Same price and ALOT less work, so I jumped on it.

Thanks! It was a killer deal. Needs a few minor leaks fixed and a new steering shaft. New gaskets and Borgeson shaft already ordered. Then I gotta practice the jeep wave, lol

Nice pics brother - very clean. Now go get in some mud! Enjoy and don't fret over the wave - it will come as an involuntary motion very soon. Enjoy the ride!

Well here is my new project..although it isnt my old 83 Larado it is still a solid CJ. My brother and I just added the 4" suspension lift. His is the brown one parked next to mine as a comparison. He has the same year..both 84's and his has a 1 1/2" lift. After the sag in the original springs my rig went up aver 8 inches!!!

Tested out the SOA today (:
Thatīs the last pic with the amc20/d30 combo, Iīm just swaping some D60/44HD 8-lug from a J20 under the CJ
Although I keep asking myself what for... there are no spots for wheeling in this f.... country anyway well... I think I just take comfort that one day my CJ will be back in the US... where it belongs.

My '73 as it sits. Not as pretty as some nor ugly as others. Nothing fancy about it, but I've wheeled it a few times, it can hang with most (no pics since I was alone).
Sorry for the garage shot, it's wheels are off now as I'm in the middle of brakes, I'll get more up once it's rolling again.
Specs: 258 w/weber, 3 speed, 32" at's, small lift, full cage, od green rattle-bomb job (was "shade-o-gumbo-yellow").
Loving the pictures in this thread, and loving my tired iron.
