Killer jeep no matter what year it is!
Sorry for the typo, thank for catching it. It's a 1948, at least the title, tags and frame are, not much else.

I like your subtle cobra logo. Nice touch. Sleeper alert.

Just purchased this CJ7 about a week ago, trying to get it ready for the spring. Has some minor rust in the normal places (Lucky for me I paint cars for a living)....but it is packin' under the hood! look forward to working on her...it will be a daily driver soon.

I have been poking around this forum for over a year now and decided to take the plunge into the CJ world. I am hoping that someone with knowledge could help me get on the right track. I am looking for a later model CJ7 and found one, but dont know what questions to ask or what specifically to look for. The ad lists:

"1985 Jeep CJ7. Rebuilt straight six motor Weber carb. New brakes. New steering box. New top of the line Bestop softop with tinted windows and new doors. Lots of receipts. Diamons plate accent panels. Stainless hood accesories, mirrors, grille. Heavy duty front bumper. Nerf bars. Chrome wheels. Center console, rear bench seat. Chrome dash panel."

If I am wrong for posting this here please let me know and I will fix myself. If anyone is willing to help me out please let me know. Thanks

you would definitely get more responses if you start a new thread below. the first thing i would be concerned about is if there is any rust under the diamond plates. they tend to hide/create massive rot holes.

Check rust at the rear of the frame, Windshield cowl, and around the roll bar points of contact.

After years of playing around with my Suzuki LJ20, I finally decided to plunge into the Jeep world and get something with a 4-stroke. Found a good deal on this project 1980 CJ5 around Thanksgiving and have been enjoying working on it. Thanks to everyone in this forum, the threads have helped me a lot with several jobs I have completed on it.
