A jeep is truly what you make it, follow your heart, follow your soul. If originality is for you that's fine if you love your jeep but wish to make mods that make it more what you need then have at it. I love all types of jeeps original and mod'd. The respect , at least for me, lies in the workmanship, ingenuity and creativeness I see in any creation. For us to dictate it should be this way or that is reserved for our own jeeps. I love the diversity I see here ( as long as they are jeeps, in that respect I am prejudiced ). I love my amc 360 but desire to have a 4th gear automatic so I am leaning towards a 4.3 with a 700r4 tranny swap, maybe next year. I owe all my spare cash to paypal for awhile. LOL!

Nice lookin' Laredo bamakrw. Sharp!

jrock78 - I kind of feel the same way but not necessarily the original engine but rather one of AMC's offerings. But I'm a traditionalist jeeper from way back.

Here a shot of my '85 CJ-7 with a a very rare dealer installed brush guard, lights, and a ramsey winch. I don't believe it has every been used. I tested it when I bought it and it worked. It had 55k on it when I bought it. It's got a 258, auto tranny, PS/PB, A/C, and cruise control(dealer installed? - not working though) I just installed a Big Daddy's rear bumper and tire carrier on it. It has a hard top and doors which I don't believe have ever been taken off. I plan on keeping this one, hopefully a tub swap in the future since it has some rust.

Had the paint pros shoot the glove box lid to get the original color code.. This is what they came up with! It's close but has a little more orange than brown.. It's a Volkswagen paint color

I spied the little jeep in the background with the plow mounted on front. Lets see pictures of that one too.

Texas CJ Newb

Here's my '80, just as picked 'er up a couple weeks ago. V6, Automatic, 25,000 original miles. Planning on a full custom wrap. I bought a hard top and doors that I'll be adding and just scored some AR Baja Aluminum 15X10 wheels. I'm planning on running 33X12.50's on it. Also going to load it up with Wet Sounds Audio. Gonna be fun!

FYI It's a inline 6. Not a v6.

Just got it last week ... made a run through Trabuco Creek to test the drivetrain, then made a quick stop at the Oakley factory. Happy to say, the drivetrain and everything else worked without one problem.

Found these pics of a clean early CJ5 (column shift) online, and wanted to share them with fellow CJ enthusiasts:

Bought my CJ back in October. Swapped the body for a 90 YJ and the hood, fenders and windshield frame are new. Painted it deep night blue and line-x'd the inside. Replaced the seats with rugged ridge seats. Just need to but some soft half doors, new tires (looking at 33x12.5r15 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ) and wheels - not sure if to go black or aluminum(feedback welcomed). Also need to replace front and rear bumper and install a sound system. I will also be replacing the center console with a tuffy box with the radio mounted inside.
