No, but the rear of the rear wheel well does. <--say that 10x fast.

The points are actually bent in where I've flexed it and the rear wheel scrapes the rear of the rear wheel well. <--say that 5x fast.

That's why during this upcoming summer, I'm going to cut-away the fenders back there to give it more flexing room. I'll just make a bigger half circle.

bigyellajeep,
Would you recomend welding and trussing the AMC 20? What size gears should I go with to turn those 40's? I have 4.10 in the rear now.

I had a response all typed out and when I went to submit it, the forum crashed on me...*sigh*

Basically and in short: Yes, big recommend on trussing/welding. I've welded so far, but not trussed. I will truss mine this summer. About the gearing for 40's, not super sure as I only have 35's. Though the 4.10s will be fine. It also depends on the main purpose of your rig. Mine is a DD and weekend wheeler...so not as low.

Yes. Definitely weld. I destroyed my AMC 20 by not welding the tubes (in Poplarville).
One of the best guys to talk to about welding and trussing is only about 1.5 hrs. from you down I-12....or some of the guys in SMJC

I sent you a PM so as to avoid completely hi-jacking this thread.

18to80DDC vbmenu_register("postmenu_2029874", true); : Why couldn't the CJ-5 get some spotlight? I like it better...for obvious reasons (being more built, in "finished stages.")</B>

I posted it a few pages back (page 9), it's currently torn down and the tub is getting ready to come off for some metal work. It looks kind of like an old army jeep with the flat fenders, and no roll cage or windshield.
...Finished? Ha Ha never.

I hate to see this thread die, so here is my "sandbox".

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...ki1/Jeep06.jpg

It was a real POS when I bought it. You will notice the upper doors and top are different colors. I haven't decided on a color yet, but I think I am leaning toward that of the top.

Thanks,

Dave
