Thanks for the help on those pics.
Still the original paint, but is suffering, rusted out floorboards and under battery tray. Little surface rust by the driver and passenger doors. |

Fold the windshield down, remove the rubber cowl and look for rust around the cowl area. Very common area for rust.

erik,
Looks like you started your resto w/ a very nice solid CJ... Are you gonna keep the factory paint? Keep us posted, and remember we like pics!

Oh it looks solid, but trust me the entire tub was rusted completely inside and out, we went to take it apart and we could shake the jeep and just watch the rust fall off in piles. I am gonna do a build thread here shortly, when I get some time to post pictures.....I have been at it since October of last year!

Thats what I get from judging a book by its cover. That before picture you posted must be her better side. Look forward to the build thread! ![]()

Had to move my Airstream trailer out to the street, and the WJ was down for shocks, springs, and sway bars so I could use that. Trailer weighs 2300 with a 250 lb tongue weight. Took for a drive around the block and it drove and stopped fine. Wouldn't take it on highway though, just too much trailer for that, but I would feel okay taking it as short distance at speeds around 45 mph. Anyway thought the 59 looked good behind the 84 CJ
