The Black is an '81(sort of), the Red is an '86, the Yellow is an '76 and the White is a '80.

These pics were from a track down the road at a new developement that was sponsored by and designed by Land Rover. The land rovers were getting stuck just trying to get to it. The CJ didn't miss a beat!!

The sliders are made by Olympic and can be mounted either way, up or down. In the up position they provide more clearance. In the down position they act as a step. They were made for a YJ but I bought them used and modified them to fit my CJ. I wanted a step (for the wife and kids) that didn't mount to the fiberglass tub and they fit the bill. They are attached to the frame.
One more pic,

So I went to my first M&G tonight, and the CJ's were front and center.

Mine is the green '81, loved this yellow CJ8

Please they bug me. Once I got them I tried to trade them for narrower ones but nobody was interested, return shipping was way too much so I gave up and installed them. I was probably going to go for a wider stance anyway, but yah. they are a touch goofy I think.
ARGH

Maybe I'll just trim them down.

Oh, ok, I take it that you do not end up on a lot of rocks then? I just asked because it seems like the step would get in the way when you slide across a rock. Anyhow, still, nice looking rig!

Pinky, I really love that mint paint. I have not seen a lot of them in that color, but it sure does look sharp.

I would be willing to give you my stock flares, if you want them... I am in Utah, but we might be able to work something out. I am going to meet some folks in Ouray this summer who live down in the springs.

Here's my '82 CJ8, which I bought at the end of February.
It's my second vehicle and my first Jeep; I'm eighteen years old.
I'm very enthusiastic about this project, but it's going to take a LOT of work, and lot of money that I don't have right now.

Nice Jeep Scrambling man! I'm with ya, a lot of work and no coin!

Here is my 2nd Jeep, 1978 CJ5, all stock right now. I did manage to paint the grill though, the rest is still nice and crusty.
