It's almost that time again

Off to a good start, shed a few pounds off my frame and putting in some time on the bike, will start overall strength training in the next week or so. Lowered the draw weight on the bow to 50-55 lbs and flinging arrows to work on my shoulders. Loads worked up in multiple firearms, all sighted in at 200 and practicing to 600 (except the muzzleloader).

Early muzzleloader first with the bow along for does, not sure about general firearm season this year, maybe some public land nearby and of course, I will throw my name in the hat for Texas drawings.

I'm glad you brought this thread up! My dad just scored his cow Aug 5. 24 yd shot in amongst the heard. Pretty steep country round here hence the reason for the prowling lion in the bushes pose only way to get behind her.

I think I won't be hunting this year! *sigh*

On another note, what's a good price for a box of 50 .45 acp LRN reloads? I have a guy wanting me to supply him.

I hope to sight in the .308 next Thursday to make sure it is ready for this fall. Got a 4th season either sex elk tag again this year. Unfortunately, Jim won't be joining me this year. Hopefully we can work that out for next years hunt. I have another friend who decided to join me this year. He's the same guy who helped me build my sub box and rode along during my driveshaft torque load failure test. He barely missed out on a license but decided to come with me anyway. Hoping we have the same kind of success as last years hunt.

The season on my lease here in Fl doesn't start for almost another month. *Any* success during Archery season is a win!

Ya got that right Luis. I haven't hunted big game with a gun since 1994. Birds are a different story. I love hunting with the bow, and I am seriously considering switching from my Darton to a recurve. Trouble is- buy a recurve, or seats and a windshield for the CJ?

Meh... it's hit or miss. I am thinking about planting a plot in the corner of my yard just for fun. It's possible I could shoot something there, but the real action is in the woods that my neighbor owns. I expect to be on a lease next year, or even selling the house to get a piece of land for the recreational value. Problem with selling the house is that it's just too big for this area. There is no industry here unless you are in phosphates or corrections. No large families moving this way.

I bought my cj7 to take me farther back than my 2wd chevy ever could. Since this is my first jeep I bought in June I am expecting some great adventures. I have stopped rifle hunting 6 yrs ago I have a pse bow, a 30-06 12gauge and assorted hand guns and 22's. I Love to hunt for Elk, Deer, javelina, Quail, dove, turkey, pretty much everything, I also enjoy fly fishing. Mostly just being outdoors and enjoying this great country. Successful or not every time is awesome!!!
