Didn't get a picture off all my gear and two doe in the back 2 weeks ago , don't have a top on either . But shot my PA buck yesterday, nothing huge but season ends next week and anything with a bow is better then a big one with a gun

Dave here was my view for the biggest part of the day. Passed on a nice 8 point this morning and saw a keeper but he was running through trees and spooked, no decent shot. Then on my way in this afternoon to sit on the stand till dark I see what looks like a buck bedded in some grass. Put the binoculars on him and he was laid out flat, dead. Shame that happens but I'd guess somebody wounded him and he got away. Coyotes already found him too. Finished the day off watching two does feed and called it a day.

That blows. We are starting to get Coyotes here in parts of Maryland although I haven't seen them myself yet. Nice bucks fellas. The rut has been slow around here. The full moon has made them run at night. It's been hard hunting. Still off work until Tuesday to hopefully fill my second archery tag.

Nice buck, too bad he was not recovered by the person who took the shot.

Jim... turn your gun over. It shoots better, and it's easier to see!!

If we get a buck like that around here we talk about it for years! That's a shame. Good reason to KNOW your shot!

Holy cow (no pun intended). Never seen this thread before. All my jeeps have been for hunting. No hunting=no jeep. I primarily hunt wild pigs and deer, with some bear, waterfowl, and upland birds every now and then. Both rifle and archery. Here's a picture of this year's 2x3 on the 59 CJ-5. Shot on the opener of rifle in B-zone.:

Nice bucks, Guys! Never see anything like that around here.

A new hunting preserve is being constructed just a few miles from my house. I go by it every day on my way to work. They are clearing all the trees!! They have a game fence around the perimeter... don't know how many acres. It's called Valley Whitetails. They planted a couple of acres in ryegrass as everything else has been clearcut and raked. Nothing but bare dirt. I saw 6 Elk grazing the ryegrass this morning as I drove by. Yesterday's high was 87! What are these people thinking? Are the Elk gonna make it in this heat? Worst thing is... someone will pay big $ to go inside the fence and shoot one.

NV4500,

Did you wait for that buck to stop suckling it's mother before you shot it? LOL!!

Just yanking your chain, brother, they all look the same in the freezer.

Congrats,

Matt

Some nice buck in the pics above, congrats. And best of luck to all the pee aaaa hunters (Pa.) out there for Monday's rifle season opener. I skipped archery and early muzzleloader season cause of my Jeep, but I won't miss this season.

NV4500, don't mind these guys. They are just jealous they haven't got a deer! He will look just fine on your BBQ!

Galt, Nice buck!

Planetcat, How many inches across? Very nice buck.

Congratulations gentlemen, nice deer!

I wonder how many people would pass on a plate of chicken fried backstrap or some Jalapeno sausage from NV's buck?
