HAHA and the picture to add insult to injury! Damn thats a nice buck, would love to hunt in your neck of the woods. Our deer season ended on Oct 23rd with a temp of 86 degrees! They allow a "late" season hunt in the same area but only allow 45 people in the entire state to hunt it. And from what I hear, you have to have "relations" with Barbra Boxer AND Jerry Brown at the SAME time to get that tag. And thats just something my sensitive mind cannot handle!

Yeah, I snuck the picture in after the fact. Sorry.
I'm blessed to live in an area with a large, mature herd of Mulies. Unfortunately, it's all private ground and the increasing numbers of outfitters are making it difficult to get permission. It could be worse, though, I could live in Texas.
Thanks for taking my jabs in the spirit they were intended.
Matt

You are blessed! Yeah cause only Steers and *****s live in Texas, or so R. Lee Ermy says.

I'm expecting to catch some cruising bucks this Friday when this cold front blows through. The Rut is right around the corner.
Here is a 2.5 year old I took earlier in the month in the creek by my house.

I am leaving for Pheasant in Nebraska on Friday. I use my CJ7 for Hog Hunting here in Oklahoma. They want to hide in the back country a lot and I like to go back looking for them. Next year will be chasing Mule deer in New Mexico, maybe Elk if I can swing it.

Good luck on your hunts Galt and BigLarry.
Thanks for the kind words, Skerr.
I'm heading to Kansas to chase whitetails on Nov. 8. My cuz has a few bigguns on his trail camera. Hopefully he won't have them all boogered up by the time I get there.
Here are a couple of dinks I've shot on his farm in the past

I've got news for you, yearlings are better eating...
I can put the antlers in a pressure cooker for a week and still can't stick a fork in the gravy!
Yearling is the way to go if you are the eating type.
Personally, I'm on the backside of 50, retired Marine, and I can admit it...
I just never cared for handling dead animals, so I stick with ham and beef steaks now,
That's why I'm FAT! I don't have to chase them nearly as much!
I DRIVE to the steak place, then I DRIVE home,
No beating the brush for days on end looking for just the right spot, no humping a ton of gear out and back in, no lugging deer to the checking station and then to the processor or having to process it myself...
I just sit down, order, get WAY too full, then go home and watch the 'Hunting Channel' while I take a nap!

OK this one is for Matt1881CJ7, if I have to look at 1 more of your beautiful, giagantic bucks, I'm going to puke! Haha
3x3 shot on the run at 200 yards, hit right in the head. (Which is why he isn't very photogenic.)
