Hey guys, maybe you can help me. I just ordered a AR-15 but searching for the right scope mainly used for target shooting.
Just something my son and I can enjoy at the range.

I'l be picking it up in a couple of days.

Any suggestions.?

Hunting is by far my passion too bad I live in So Cal where if you say you hunt people either think you’re cruel or a right-wing gun nut or a violent person. I just laugh and say; “taste this venison”, there response is “WOW, that’s really good” but you are still a blood thirsty killer!!! LOL

I grew-up rife hunting Muleys in Utah but now I prefer bow hunted. I have bowhunted Elk in Colorado and Whitetails in Wisconsin. But every other year I find myself in the mountains of southern Utah chasing muleys around with my good friends AND my CJ7!!!!

Post up pic when you get it. But leupold makes great scopes but they are expensive. This tasco on our .243 is a good scope

John,

I used a Burris PEPR mount and a Leupold 3x9 AR on my carbine. I have shot it bone stock out to 500 with no issues whatsoever. The setup will be moved to a 20" target/varmint build that is almost complete and I will probably use a Leupold 1.5x4 AR or similar on the carbine.

There is no limit to what you can use, the 223 being low recoil and the picatinny allowing you to move the scope around and most all scopes will work fine.

Nice

Hope you keep them in the family, I let a dozen go before I reached the age of 30 and regret it now.

Yep but it's turning out to be to expensive to shoot.

Looking at a Ruger 77/17VMBBZ rifle or a Savage 93R17-BVSS
Ammo is easy to find and cheap.

Thanks for reminding me,
My Brother-in-law told me to save the brass and he'll show me how to re-load.

Just have to figure out what to buy.
