CJ MC and Booster and YJ firewall bracket???

Is the YJ firewall bracket the same as the CJ firewall bracket. That is to say will a CJ MC and Booster setup work with a YJ firewall bracket on a CJ.

I can locate a new CJ MC and booster w/o bracket and I can locate a YJ firewall bracket.

I don't want to do the YJ upgrade right now because my SS brake lines are factory bent for a CJ set up.

I am going from manual to power on my CJ...

I have a booster, bracket and mc you can buy for cheap. The MC is new (bendix), the booster works but don't know how well. I'm replacing with a vanco setup as I am going up to 33" or 35" tires. PM me if interested. The MC has a warranty through monroe muffler and brake shops.

MC, booster and firewall bracket

I am interested. Is it off a CJ?

What kinda shape is it in? If all functions correctly and the price is right I will take it.

How much shipped to Memphis, TN? E-mail me...

CJ brackets only work with CJ boosters.

YJ brackets only work with YJ boosters.

A CJ complete setup can be put on a YJ and you will be downgrading the Jeep.

A YJ complete setup can be put on a CJ with mods and you will be upgrading the Jeep.

I would venture to say that power brakes of any sort would be an upgrade from manual???

I would love a Vanco setup. I just can't afford one right now with the list of stuff I have to do to my Jeep growing by the day. Maybe in a couple years I will upgrade again...

Putting a CJ booster on anything would be a downgrade. That being said, you're not going to find a Manual brake YJ.

Check around, I found a good 95 YJ dual diaphragm booster with MC For $75. That is a nice CJ upgrade for the price. Try www.car-part.com

I found the m/c, booster and bracket off an old YJ at a local pull-n-save for like 30 bucks and it bolted right into my 80 cj7. The ports on the master cylinder were on the other side, I needed to reduce to smaller fittings, and the stock air cleaner would no longer fit but those were the only issues with fitment. Car quest carries weatherhead fittings that will reduce. I will look for my reciept with part numbers if that would help. Check out bustedjeep.com. That what gave me my idea. I did find that the Weatherhead part numbers on there werent the same ones that I needed though.

Yall have any experience using a CJ Master cylinder on a YJ booster?
Currently I have non-power brakes.
...not sure if it even fits, but I have a 94 YJ booster and bracket in the garage, and I was thinking IF the MC fit on the booster, that would simplfy the upgrade considerably

It won't work without major and most likely unsafe modifications.

I am pretty sure there is no difference between the 4 and 6 cyl MC, I just used a YJ Master Cylinder and Booster Combo, Plus I reused the CJ Bracket. I just had to go to NAPA and buy a couple of thread adapters, pennies really. You need to rebend your lines because the YJ connects and the engine side and the CJ connects on the fender side. A real easy upgrade, well worth it and cheap. There are a ton of write-ups on it. The other option is to contact VANCO and get a custom setup.
