Mine really works well after I did this, as do others who've done it. __________________ '81 Scrambler w/ FI 360 AMC, 33x12.50 BFG M/T's, 5" of lift, ARB'd Dana 44's F & R, Warn XD9000i, etc... 2000 & 2002 Grand Cherokee Limiteds, 2008 Overland Grand Cherokee and a 1976 CJ-7 in pieces............... |

Also take the time to renew the seals and look for air leaks in the blower housing. There are aftermarket heaters that work well but realy take more work to plum in the defrost and fresh air anyway. |

The hardest part is getting the old stuff out. A dremel made quick work of enlarging the firewall hole for the bigger motor. Now it literally blows dirt off the floor... And into my eyes ![]() But it blows like a *&^%$@! |

But I second the blower upgrade. You can do it for less than 20 bucks. Mine works great. But, if you still need more heat after that, you can buy one of the auxillary heaters from any of the major jeeps places ( __________________ Check out my Art '83 CJ7, Bored 258, Weber 38 DGAS, 33"s, Rhino-ed tub, Aquasport Seats, Custom (aka homemade) Front Bumper, Tunes, Faded and Chipped Blue Paint with Black Hardtop SOLD | |

Registered User | My heater core went out last year and I didn't have a heater til this past fall of 05. I replaced the heater core, thermostat, blower motor switch and the blower motor (chevy blower motor upgrade). Talk about a major improvement. I never have to go past the middle speed (3 speed motor) and I'm toasty warm. More importantly, my wife is toasty warm and leaves her down comforter at home. I would recommend replacing all especially since you're draining the radiator anyway. __________________ All the Jeeps I've owned 79 CJ5 258 six with a weber (current vehicle) T18/Dana20 81 CJ5 258 six (driven out of Alaska thru Canada in winter with a softtop) 75 Jeep Wagoneer 360V8 79 Jeep Cherokee 258 six |
