CJ grill on wall with lights

Just thought I'd share this as it’s been talked about a few times. A local restaurant with a backwoods flair said our club could hang a Jeep grill on the wall to match the rest of the decor. So I grabbed the worst CJ grill I had (from the pile) and my friend Brian and I used a 110 to 12 volt power box and 4 LED lights to make this. We used a bad set of headlight buckets and just the front glass from two bad headlights. All four LEDs are the small push style found on the front fenders. The sign below is a metal plate that will be hung by two small chains. A pull chain on/off switch finishes off the sign.

I've got one I'm going to put speaker in,
Woofers in the head lights, mid/high range in the park lights, then cover them with those silly woven wire protector guards someone got me a few years back and I never used.
I figure the gap at the bottom will be a good place for stereo.

Guess I could add LED lights in the speaker gills if I wanted to... Maybe pulse with the music?

I did one a few years back with a clock in one head light, and a thermometer in the other,
Small speakers in the park light holes and a radio in the bottom.
Stole the idea from a Ford T-bird grill I saw in a restruant with a $1,700 price tag on it!

There is an max an ermas near my house that has an entire body hanging on the ceiling/wall. Its one of the really early cj's like a 3 or something.

Disregard everything i say

I have a dana 30 front axle and amc 20 rear if anyone is looking. Both are 3.54, drums, narrowtrack.

Bringing back an old thread. Looking for a warm glow, not bright lights. OEM harness still attached to headlights and parking lights on grill. Would a 110 to 9.5 volt converter work?

Just use smaller led bulbs. Use a converter for that volt bulb. Most likely 12volts.

You will have to be careful of the current draw. You could burn up the converter.

Are you trying to light the room up or just the headlight. If the latter, I would try to brak the back out of a bad bulb and insert a marker light or gauge light into the hole and use a small 12 volt converter. Then you can use an old headlight switch to control the brightness or any rheostat.

Thanks John and Happy Thanksgiving. You've been a world of help these last two years. I am just looking for decorative "glow". I'm no electrician. Sounds like the OEM 55 watt headlights would draw too much current? Would you suggest a 12 volt landscape transformer?
