How do you tell the difference between a D30 3.54 and down carrier and a 3.73 and up carrier?

Do you have both types? If so, the mounting face of the ring gear will be closer to the pinion on the 3.73 and up as compared to the 3.54 and down. I don't know the heights of each.

Thanks for the quick response CSP. I have 5 known 3.54 and down carriers but none that are 3.73 and up.

Will the difference be noticeable directly above the ring face where I have the arrows? Is it detectable by the eye? Is it the same on the AMC 20 carriers?

Thanks again sir!

After a little more searching I found this site. It shows the measurements and where to take them. Thanks again CSP.
