CJ 8 half top on a 7

I saw the first pic in this thread

just a dumb idea but you should prolly ask him since its his jeep. i think he would know....

one magazine used a piece of an old body to close it off

Been covered in other threads...you need the CJ-8 bulkhead as well and the '76-early '79 rollbar (or a custom one) that sits on top of the wheelhouses.

it makes me unique

the 304 is running strong as can be. Has a rocker thats sticks sometimes but that can wait to be fix

i was refering to the pigeon toed part.... that 304 is just a there for me to beat up

if I was closer to texas,I would go for one of those 304's or 401 in a heart beat..

Mine came out of a Wagoneer but there are hundreds if not thousands setting in old International Harvester school buses in fields and lots all over the U.S. AMC sold the 401's to I.H. for their heavy duty trucks.

I.H. also had a 304 that was NOT an AMC engine but one from their truck line. It shared nothing in common with the AMC 304 except displacement. Most school buses are high mileage but they were also well maintained and hardly ever rebuilt. If you are curious enough to go looking for one try to find a late '70's model.
