CJ 7 Tough Country 2" Lift

Anyone have any experience with this lift kit? I purchased it used and I had some questions about it. Are the front springs narrower then the rears? Do you really need new shocks with a 2"?

Yes, the front springs are narrower. Any CJ from 76 and up left the factory with 2" wide springs in front and 2.5" wide in the rear.

You know I've never noticed that before and it's sad to say since I've had 6 CJ's. makes you wonder though why not heavy springs in the front with all thy weight from these motors??

Wider doesn't necessarily equate to a higher spring rate. You have to take individual leaf thickness and number of leaves into account also.
